Each year, more than half a million women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and the disease results in over 300 000 deaths worldwide. High-risk subtypes of the human papilloma virus (HPV) are the cause of the disease in most cases. The disease is largely preventable. Approximately 90% of cervical cancers occur in low-income and middle-income countries

A case of primary cervical ganglioneuroblastoma is reported. It is a very rare tumour, only one example of this differentiated form of neuroblastoma having been previously recorded as a primary tumour in the neck. The incidence, clinical features, pathology and prognosis of primary cervical neuroblastoma have been discussed.

Cervical spondylolisthesis is a rare, unusual finding in patients with neck pain. Cervical pain without neurological deficit is most often seen with this abnormality. It usually involves a defect in the pedicle of the sixth cervical vertebra. Anterior interbody cervical fusion is recommended as the treatment of choice.
