Open-door Cervical Expansile Laminoplasty
Neurosurgery, 2004Cervical laminoplasty is becoming a popular technique for the treatment of cervical myelopathy that is the result of multilevel canal stenosis. Many variations in this technique, which was originally created in Japan, have been developed, all with the goal of increasing canal space and reconstructing the posterior bony arch.

Alternating cervical laminoplasty for cervical spondylotic myelopathy
The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 2007We present a novel method of performing an ‘open-door’ cervical laminoplasty. The complete laminotomy is sited on alternate sides at successive levels, thereby allowing the posterior arch to be elevated to alternate sides. Foraminotomies can be carried out on either side to relieve root compression. The midline structures are preserved.

Achondroplasia and cervical laminoplasty.
