Relation of cervical length at 22-24 weeks of gestation to demographic characteristics and obstetric history

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2004
Preterm delivery is the main cause of neonatal death and ultrasonographic cervical assessment has been shown to be more accurate than digital examination in recognizing a short cervix.

NAD+ Metabolism Licenses Zygotic Genome Activation via PARP7‐Mediated ADP‐Ribosylation of UHRF1 in Mouse Early Embryos

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a metabolic‐epigenetic axis licensing zygotic genome activation (ZGA) in mouse embryos. A developmental decline in NAD+ levels activates PARP7, which mono‐ADP‐ribosylates and stabilizes UHRF1. This modification promotes the establishment of permissive histone acetylation marks, thereby facilitating timely ZGA.

Extent of Lymph Node Dissection for cStage I Siewert Type I/II Cancers Based on Lymph Node Metastasis Risk Stratification

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim The optimal surgical strategy and extent of lymph node (LN) dissection for clinical Stage I (cStage I) adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) remain controversial. This study aimed to evaluate surgical outcomes and clarify the prevalence and distribution of LN metastasis according to tumor characteristics in cStage I Siewert ...

Potential Survival Benefit of Neoadjuvant Docetaxel, Cisplatin and 5‐Fluorouracil Therapy in Patients With Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma With Multiple Lymph Node Metastases: A Single‐Institute Propensity Score Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Although neoadjuvant chemotherapy with fluorouracil, cisplatin, and docetaxel (NAC‐DCF) is the current standard neoadjuvant regimen for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, its substantial toxicity underscores the need to identify patients who derive the greatest benefit.

Clinical utility of pharyngeal high‐resolution manometry with impedance for upper esophageal sphincter dysfunction in gastroenterology

open access: yesAdvances in Digestive Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Pharyngeal high‐resolution manometry with impedance (P‐HRM‐I) is an established assessment method used to evaluate pharyngeal swallowing. It provides precise quantification of swallowing biomechanics that enable the detection of alterations in swallowing physiology.

Effect of e-learning on quality of cervical-length measurements

open access: yesUltrasound in obstetrics & gynecology, 2015
To assess the effect of implementation of a newly developed e-learning module on the quality of cervical-length measurements. With the introduction of cervical-length (CL) measurement in a research setting, a CL measurement e-learning module (CLEM) was developed with the purpose to enhance the knowledge and skills of experienced ultrasonographers. CLEM
