Management of the Suspicious Cervical Lymph Node
Postgraduate Medicine, 1970A common and serious error in management of patients with suspicious cervical lymph nodes is immediate biopsy. Enlarged cervical nodes may be the only clinical manifestation of cancer, and a search for the primary lesion takes top priority. Anyone excising such a node should be prepared to follow through with radical neck dissection.
