Upper cervical spinal cord compression due to bony stenosis of the spinal canal
Neuroradiology, 1994Compression of the upper cervical spinal cord due to stenosis of the bony spinal canal is infrequent. In the first case reported here, stenosis was due to acquired extensive, unilateral osteophytes centered on the left apophyseal joints of C1-C2 in an elderly professional violinist.

Spinal canal stenosis is often measured on anatomical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to estimate the degree of spinal cord compression. This study examined whether two quantitative measures of spinal canal stenosis taken from anatomical MRI are related to spinal cord white-matter integrity in patients with cervical spondylosis measured by diffusion ...

Effect of Modic changes on spinal canal stenosis and segmental motion in cervical spine
European Spine Journal, 2014Few studies have reported the characteristics of Modic changes (MCs) in the cervical spine in contrast to the lumbar spine. The purpose of this study was to identify the prevalence of MCs in the cervical spine and to elucidate the relationship of MCs with spinal canal stenosis and angular motion.437 consecutive, symptomatic patients with neck pain with

Cervical myelopathy caused by developmental stenosis of the spinal canal
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1979✓ The authors present six patients with myelopathy caused by developmental stenosis of the cervical spine. Hyperextension injuries precipitated the onset of symptoms in two patients, aged 19 and 20 years. In four, 41 to 69 years of age, symptoms were gradual in onset, progressing to severe disability.

Central spinal cord lesions in stenosis of the cervical canal
Neuroradiology, 199034 patients suffering from cervical spondylotic myelopathy confirmed by myelography were examined by delayed CT 6-10 h after myelography. Twelve patients showed bilateral intramedullary collections of contrast medium, predominantly cranial to the stenosis.

The myelon in cervical spinal canal stenosis: Imaging by X-ray and MRI
Neurosurgical Review, 1987Methods which produce findings relevant to diagnosis and therapy of cervical vertebral canal stenosis are described. Especially MRI provides insights into the structure of the myelon; abnormal image signals may possibly correlate with cervical myelopathy based on disorders of microcirculation.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Options in Stenosis of the Cervical Spinal Canal
1987Wrong approaches to diagnosis and delays of several years in diagnosis are not uncommon in spinal canal stenoses. Apart from the case history and the clinical findings, it is indispensable that cervical X-rays be taken in four planes. In accordance with direct or indirect criteria of Stenosis, myelography (MG), computed tomography (CT) or magnetic ...
