Management of degenerative changes and stenosis of the lumbar spinal canal secondary to cervical spinal cord injury [PDF]
We describe the case of a 47-year-old female who sustained a C5/6 fracture with C6 complete spinal cord injury 26 years ago. She presented with increased spasticity of the lower extremities, the abdominal wall and episodes of autonomic dysreflexia. Imaging of the spine revealed post-traumatic kyphosis at the level of the injury and degenerative changes

Safety of laronidase delivered into the spinal canal for treatment of cervical stenosis in mucopolysaccharidosis I [PDF]
Enzyme replacement therapy with laronidase (recombinant human alpha-l-iduronidase) is successfully used to treat patients with mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I). However, the intravenously-administered enzyme is not expected to treat or prevent neurological deterioration. As MPS I patients suffer from spinal cord compression due in part to thickened

Abstract Background Trigeminal‐mediated headshaking (TMHS) in horses shares clinical features with human trigeminal neuralgia (HTN). Increased levels of the neuropeptide calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP) have been found in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of HTN patients. Inhibition of CGRP in humans has shown promise for pain relief.
