The risk of uterine rupture in trial of labor after cesarean in grand multiparous parturients

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 4, July 2026.
Abstract Background Previous cesarean delivery is the main risk factor for subsequent uterine rupture. This study aimed to determine whether grand multiparity (≥5th delivery) elevates the risk for uterine rupture in trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC).

In utero ventriculosubgaleal shunt placement in a fetal lamb model: Phase 1 technical insights

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 4, July 2026.
Abstract Background Progressive ventriculomegaly and the resulting irreversible brain damage may be mitigated through timely diversion prenatal intervention. While ventriculosubgaleal shunt (VSGS) is commonly performed postnatally in premature infants, in utero placement is unexplored.

Fecal Proteomics Suggest Potential Biomarkers for Non‐Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Steatohepatitis

open access: yesPROTEOMICS – Clinical Applications, Volume 20, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and aims Non‐alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) affects about a quarter of the world's population. Liver biopsy remains the gold standard for diagnosing the progressive form of NAFLD called Non‐alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) but it is invasive, prone to sampling errors and observer variability, and impractical for widespread ...

Age‐ and Sex‐Dependent Dynamics in Pituitary Thyrotroph and Thyroid Hormones in Dromedary Camels (Camelus dromedarius): A Histochemical Approach

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
This study demonstrates age‐ and sex‐dependent regulation of the hypothalamic pituitary thyroid axis in dromedary camels, showing enlarged thyrotroph morphology in older animals and distinct hormonal patterns, including declining T4 with age‐ and sex‐related variation in T3 and TSH levels.

Cortisol and heart rate response of mares during the in‐hand breeding procedure with and without restraint

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 4, Page 1116-1126, July 2026.
Abstract Background In‐hand breeding involving restraint methods is likely the most common practice in the horse breeding industry worldwide. However, welfare issues that arise from such management have not been investigated in detail. Objectives (1) To investigate whether the mares show increased stress responses during in‐hand breeding using (a) a ...

Trained Memory of Uterine Macrophages Improves Subsequent Pregnancy Outcomes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
This study identifies that pregnancy imprints a durable, pregnancy‐specific form of trained immune memory in uterine macrophages, marked by the emergence of LILRB3+/PIR‐B+ cells that expand across gestations, acquire a tolerogenic and metabolically rewired phenotype, and actively protect against inflammatory pregnancy loss in mice.
