Synthesis and Structure of Alkali‐Metal Naphthylamides Solvated by Biorenewable 2‐Methyltetrahydrofuran

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, Volume 109, Issue 6, June 2026.
Advancing the understanding of coordination effects in alkali‐metal amide chemistry, this study reports the mono‐ and di‐metalation of N‐phenyl‐1‐naphthylamine, which allows for the isolation and structural characterization of a new family of alkali‐metal complexes using biorenewable 2‐methyltetrahydrofuran (2‐MeTHF) as a Lewis donor.

Progressively Fenitised Schist and Carbonatitic Clasts From a Metasomatic Aureole Beneath the Alkalic Dunedin Volcano, Otago, New Zealand

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 2, June 2026.
Clasts of albite‐porphyroblastic quartzofeldspathic schist, derived from the Otago Schist basement, occur within the Port Chalmers Breccia, a diatreme at the centre of the Dunedin stratovolcano, New Zealand. Schists have undergone varying degrees of replacement reactions (at temperatures of 300° to >500°C) producing hornfelses, with Ca‐ and K‐enriched ...

Selective Solar CO2 Conversion into Ethanol Using Atomic‐Scale Copper Clusters Anchored π‐extended Poly(heptazine imide)

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 32, 8 June 2026.
Atomic‐scale copper clusters anchored on π‐extended poly(heptazine imide) enable selective, sacrificial‐agent‐free solar conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) to ethanol. The catalyst promotes interfacial charge separation and stabilizes key carbon‐carbon coupling intermediates, providing a molecularly defined platform for direct C2 fuel synthesis under ...

Dissolved Organic Matter (DOM) Dynamics at the Sediment‐Water Interface in the North Sea: Implications for Global Benthic DOM Fluxes

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Sediment–water exchange of dissolved organic matter (DOM) represents a critical yet poorly constrained component of the marine carbon cycle. Here, we combine quantitative, molecular, and carbon isotope (δ13C and F14C) analyses to investigate the production, composition, and export of porewater DOM in the German Bight, North Sea, and evaluate ...

New Insights Into Hikurangi Subduction Inputs and Megathrust Host Rocks Spanning Along‐Margin Changes in Fault Slip Behavior

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract The seismic behavior of subduction megathrusts varies spatially and is influenced by the properties of subducting plates, including their sedimentary cover. Characterizing these subduction inputs is essential for understanding the mechanisms behind fault slip variability.

Geochemical and Isotopic Constraints on Long‐Lived Source Enrichment and Mantle Evolution in Paleoproterozoic Cratonic Lamprophyres

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract The cratonic lithospheric mantle records complex metasomatic processes and is frequently tapped by alkaline magmatism, offering a unique opportunity to trace the progressive evolution of the mantle. In the present contribution, we investigate a newly identified calc‐alkaline lamprophyre field from the Neoarchean Jonnagiri Schist Belt, Eastern ...
