A facility for production and laser cooling of cesium isotopes and isomers [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2018
We report on the design, installation, and test of an experimental facility for the production of ultra-cold atomic isotopes and isomers of cesium. The setup covers a broad span of mass numbers and nuclear isomers, allowing one to directly compare chains of isotopes and isotope/isomer pairs.

Prediction of spallation induced transmutation rates for long-lived fission products via proton accelerator [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Long-lived fission products represent a major challenge in nuclear waste management due to persistent radiotoxicity over very long timescales. This study focuses on six of these fission products: Se-79, Zr-93, Tc-99, Sn-126, I-127, Cs-135.

Nuclear spins and magnetic moments of some cesium isotopes [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 1977
Using an atomic-beam magnetic resonance apparatus connected on-line with the ISOLDE isotope separator, CERN, hyperfine structure measurements have been performed in the 2S12 electronic ground state of some cesium isotopes. An on-line oven system which efficiently converts a mass separated ion beam of alkali isotopes to an atomic beam is described in ...

Neutron Nuclear Data Evaluation of Cesium Isotopes for JENDL-4.0 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 2011
For the development of JENDL-4.0, neutron nuclear data for fission product nuclides, 133,134,135,136,137Cs, were revised in the incident neutron energy range from 1 eV to 20MeV by using a coupled-channels optical model (OM), and nuclear reaction models.

Assessment of 137Cs, 90Sr, 241Am, 239+240Pu, 3H (HTO, OBT) in the fish from lakes, rivers, and nuclear shell craters of the semipalatinsk test site [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
The Semipalatinsk Test Site houses various contaminated water resources including lakes and rivers that support fish populations, which are caught for personal consumption and for commercial sale in nearby communities while farmers water their livestock ...

Precision mass measurements of cesium isotopes—new entries in the ISOLTRAP chronicles [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics, 2017
Alkali ion beams are among the most intense produced by the ISOLDE facility. These were the first to be studied by the ISOLTRAP mass spectrometer and ever since, new measurements have been regularly reported. Recently the masses of very neutron-rich and short-lived cesium isotopes were determined at ISOLTRAP.
