Stretchable Energy Storage with Eutectic Gallium Indium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
A highly stretchable liquid metal‐based electrode is developed via a one‐step process, retaining conductivity and capacitance after mechanical deformation up to 900% strain. The stretchable all‐solid‐state device provides a areal energy density of 43 µWh cm⁻2 after 150% strain.

Measurement of the hyperfine splitting of the 6S$_{1/2}$ level in rubidium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We present a measurement of the hyperfine splitting of the 6S$_{1/2}$ excited level of rubidium using two photon absorption spectroscopy in a glass cell. The values we obtain for the magnetic dipole constant A are 239.18(03) MHz and 807.66(08) MHz for $^{

Toward Complete CO2 Electroconversion: Status, Challenges, and Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction and CO2 batteries face challenges in achieving complete CO2 conversion with high conversion rates and Faradaic efficiency simultaneously. Existing systems compromise one for the other with incomplete CO2 conversion and inefficiencies, hindering practical applications. This perspective highlights state‐of‐the‐art progress,

Estimation of the contribution of gamma-emission of incorporated cesium radioisotopes in interpretation of the results of the public survey to assess the thyroidal iodine content following a radiation accident at the nuclear power plant [PDF]

open access: yesСаратовский научно-медицинский журнал, 2014
Aim. A detail consideration has been done to assess an importance of the contribution of gamma-emission of incorporated cesium radioisotopes to the exposure rate measured near the thyroid by the public survey for following the Chernobyl accident ...

Isotopic variation of parity violation in atomic ytterbium

open access: yes, 2018
We report on measurements of atomic parity violation, made on a chain of ytterbium isotopes with mass numbers A=170, 172, 174, and 176. In the experiment, we optically excite the 6s2 1S0 -> 5d6s 3D1 transition in a region of crossed electric and magnetic

Decoding Short‐Range Order in Amorphous Two‐Dimensional Nanosheets for Efficient and Durable Ampere‐Level Seawater Electrolysis: A Case Study of Amorphous Ni(OH)2

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work uncovers the atomic‐scale origins of exceptional HER performance in amorphous Ni(OH)2 nanosheets by combining atom probe tomography, DFT simulations, and operando spectroscopy. We identify distinct short‐range‐order motifs that accelerate water dissociation, proton transport, and hydrogen adsorption. Embedding Pt single atoms further enhances

Mixture of ultracold lithium and cesium atoms in an optical dipole trap

open access: yes, 2001
We present the first simultaneous trapping of two different ultracold atomic species in a conservative trap. Lithium and cesium atoms are stored in an optical dipole trap formed by the focus of a CO$_2$ laser. Techniques for loading both species of atoms

Reconciliation of experimental and theoretical electric tensor polarizabilities of the cesium ground state [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a new theoretical analysis of the strongly suppressed F- and M-dependent Stark shifts of the Cs ground state hyperfine structure. Our treatment uses third order perturbation theory including off-diagonal hyperfine interactions not considered ...

A critical review of porous adsorbents for air separation: From fundamental insights to rational adsorbent design

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Air separation via selective adsorption using porous adsorbents offers energy‐efficient alternatives to cryogenic distillation for producing high‐purity O2 and N2. Adsorbent efficacy depends on balancing selectivity, durability, and performance consistency across varying conditions. This comprehensive review critically discusses the design and
