Las costas de Galicia constituyen uno de los puntos con mayor biodiversidad marina del Atlántico Norte. Sus 1.498 km de costa registran una media anual de 256 varamientos de diferentes especies marinas (cetáceos, pinnípedos, tortugas y tiburones).
