Cetirizine/Pseudoephedrine

Drugs, 2001
Cetirizine is the carboxylated metabolite of hydroxyzine, and has high specific affinity for histamine H(1) receptors. Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic drug that acts directly on alpha-adrenergic receptors. black triangle Cetirizine/pseudoephedrine 5/120 mg twice daily was significantly more effective than intranasal budesonide 100 microg or ...

Isolation and Characterization of Cetirizine Degradation Product: Mechanism of Cetirizine Oxidation

Pharmaceutical Research, 2010
The goal of the study was to isolate and analyze a cetirizine degradation product, formed within a PEG-containing formulation and to elucidate the mechanism of oxidation of cetirizine.Cetirizine, formulated in PEG-containing matrix, was subjected to forced degradation conditions in the pH range from 3 to 10, and the product was analyzed by HPLC and LC ...

Pharmacokinetics of cetirizine in healthy cats

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 2008
Abstract Objective—To develop a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) assay for cetirizine in feline plasma and determine the pharmacokinetics of cetirizine in healthy cats after oral administration of a single dose (5 mg) of cetirizine dihydrochloride. Animals—9 healthy cats. Procedures—Heparinized blood samples were collected prior to and 0.5,

Cetirizine-induced dystonic movements

Neurology, 2006
Drug-induced movement disorders are most commonly associated with neuroleptics. There are a few reports of abnormal involuntary movements associated with antihistamines. We present a case of involuntary dystonic movements triggered independently by cetirizine and mepyramine maleate in a child.

Effect of haemodialysis on the pharmacokinetics of cetirizine

European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1990
The pharmacokinetics of Cetirizine, a histamine H1-receptor antagonist, were investigated in five renal failure patients undergoing chronic haemodialysis therapy. The patients received one 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride capsule 3 h before haemodialysis. Concentrations of cetirizine in serum and dialysate were determined by HPLC.
