Ultrathin Self‐Assembled and Surface‐Attached Hydrogel Coating on Titanium for Potential Nanogluing of Implants

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 33, September 5, 2025.
A self‐assembling and surface‐attached hydrogel coating was developed for titanium, combining phosphonate anchoring and phenyl azide crosslinking. The ultrathin, swellable films show long‐term stability, biocompatibility, and strong nanoparticle immobilization.

Partitioning of ionic surfactants in aerosol droplets containing glutaric acid, sodium chloride, or sea salts [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics
Sea spray is the largest contributor to atmospheric aerosol by mass and contains mixtures of inorganic salts and organics. The chemically complex organic fraction can contain soluble, highly surface-active organics, and field studies commonly identify ...

Controlling foodborne pathogens in irrigation water: the effectiveness of zeolite modified with cetrimonium bromide

open access: yesRevista Facultad Nacional de Agronomía Medellín
Recurring foodborne outbreaks, attributed to Escherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella sp., and Listeria monocytogenes, have identified irrigation water as a potential source of contamination, and creating the necessity for safe irrigation water in produce cultivation, as emphasized by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). In response to this imperative,

Metrological evaluation of DNA extraction method effects on the bacterial microbiome and resistome in sputum

open access: yesmSystems
Targeted high-throughput sequencing (HTS) has revolutionized the way we look at bacterial communities. It can be used for the species-specific detection of bacteria as well as for the determination of the microbiome and resistome and can be applied to ...

Application of the response surface methodology for RP-HPLC analysis of lidocaine and cetrimonium bromide:

open access: yes, 2004
The successful analysis of drugs in complex pharmaceutical formulations by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) relies upon the optimization of the chromatographic conditions, the sample preparation and post-column detection. HPLC separation of mixtures depends on a large number of factors.

Synergistic Antibacterial Effects of Saponified Waste Oil and Cetrimonium Chloride (Ctac) in Cement Pastes

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering Frontiers
Microbial colonization activity in cement pastes can lead to biodeterioration, compromising the structural integrity over time. This study investigates the antibacterial performance of cement pastes modified with saponified cooking oil (SCO) and cetrimonium chloride (CTAC).

Evaluation of physiochemical properties and microstructure of cement paste blended with saponified cooking oil and cetrimonium chloride

open access: yesARPN Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Sustainable development relies on recycling environmental resources, which includes the recycling of liquid and solid wastes by using them as obtained or after treatment. One such environmentally burdensome material is the used cooking oil, which this study examines after its treatment through saponification and blending with CTAC as a cationic ...
