Tetracycline Water Soluble Formulations with Enhanced Antimicrobial Activity
The negligible water solubility of tetracycline (TC), a well-known antibiotic of clinical use, is the major disadvantage for its oral administration. With the aim to improve the water solubility of TC, the micelles of formulae SLS@TC and CTAB@TC (SLS ...

This review discusses the integrated pathway of CO2 capture and its direct electrochemical conversion. It begins by discussing CO2 capture chemistries and solvent systems, followed by a detailed analysis of various CO2 release mechanisms. Key principles of reactor and catalyst design for direct CO2 electroreduction from capture media are then ...

Laser-induced vapor nanobubbles improve diffusion in biofilms of antimicrobial agents for wound care
Being responsible for delayed wound healing, the presence of biofilms in infected wounds leads to chronic, and difficult to treat infections. One of the reasons why antimicrobial treatment often fails to cure biofilm infections is the reduced penetration

Recovery of V from spent electrolytes from vanadium redox flow cells could be achieved by precipitation of V(V) with the quaternary ammonium salt N‐cetyl‐N,N,N, trimethylammonium bromide. More than 94% of the initially present V could be collected from a diluted 2,076 mg L−1 (40.76 mM) vanadium containing waste electrolyte.

Controlling foodborne pathogens in irrigation water: the effectiveness of zeolite modified with cetrimonium bromide [PDF]
Recurring foodborne outbreaks, attributed to Escherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella sp., and Listeria monocytogenes, have identified irrigation water as a potential source of contamination, and creating the necessity for safe irrigation water in produce ...

Lost in Extraction: Uncovering Bias in Soil Microbial Community Profiles
Accurate characterization of soil microbial communities depends on both DNA extraction efficiency and primer choice. We compared a CTAB‐based extraction protocol (CTAB+) with a commercial kit (Qiagen DNeasy PowerSoil) across five major microbial groups, Bacteria, Archaea, Fungi, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), and Oomycetes, amplified with eight ...
