Bu tez çalışmasında, Nuri Bilge Ceylan filmlerinin analizi yoluyla, taşra ve sıkıntı kavramları ele alınmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, öncelikle Türkiye'de taşra kavramı, merkezle olan ilişkisi, geçtiği tarihsel süreç incelenmekte, yanısıra taşranın kentleşme ve modernleşme ile bağı sorgulanmaktadır.
