CFA Pile Carrying Capacity Determination in Weak Clay Soils for Renovated-Building Foundations
Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, 2017The result of experimental studies of the operation of CFA piles in weak clay soils arranged for the foundations of renovated buildings are presented. A method using data on the auger impressing force and the physical-mechanical characteristics of the soils around the shaft of the CFA pile is proposed for calculating the carrying capacity of the soils.

Capacity and Load Movement of a CFA Pile: A Prediction Event
Foundation Engineering in the Face of Uncertainty, 2013A static loading test on a 406 mm diameter, strain-gage instrumented, 18.5 m long CFA pile presented an opportunity for arranging an impromptu prediction event. Several people known to be interested in deep foundation challenges were invited to submit a prediction of capacity and load-movement response of the pile ahead of the testing.

Reduction of the Cone Resistance caused by the installation of CFA piles
2005In The Netherlands reduction coefficients are prescribed in order to account for the quality decline of the soil due to the installation of continuous flight auger (CFA) piles. In this paper the results of cone penetration tests (CPT's) are compared that have been made before and after the installation of CFA piles.

Inlet and Outlet Pipe Heat Interaction in a Contiguous Flight Auger (CFA) Pile
2018The use of energy loop(s), fitted into the structural foundation elements dualizes the role of the pile in meeting the structural performance and the thermal comfort demand of the overlying structure. Heat carrier fluid (HCF) is circulated through the loops, to extract or reject heat energy into the ground, during the space heating or cooling operation.

Estimating the axial bearing capacity and load-settlement response of pile foundations in glauconitic sands by means of engineering practice tools can encounter limitations. Glauconite is an iron potassium phyllosilicate mineral with a characteristic green colour, which forms dark green rounded aggregations, which often resemble sand grains.
