Morphology, Transport, and Dynamics of Protein Adsorption in Open‐Cell Metal Foam

Stainless steel (SS) open‐cell foams are shown to adsorb more protein per unit area than previously reported 316L SS and chromium oxide surfaces under static and flow conditions. An integrated approach combining 3D pore imaging, flow simulation, and protein adsorption experiments characterizes the foam’s performance.

Acetoacetates Derived From Vegetable Oils: A Platform for Tailor‐Made Vinylogous Urethane Foams

A renewable vegetable oil is converted into acetoacetate‐functionalized precursors for the preparation of catalyst‐free vinylogous urethane foams. Room‐temperature foaming with n‐pentane generates lightweight cellular materials, while the choice of amine enables control over foam structure and mechanical properties.

Numerical studies of 3D cylindrical fluidized bed by means of combined computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and discrete element method (DEM) were carried out. For motions of particles, Newton's second law and 3D compressible Navier-Stokes equations in generalized curvilinear coordinates in its conservative form were used.
