The effect of discontinuous injection on particle backflow in pneumatic conveying systems

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Pneumatic conveying is used in many process industries to transport dry, granular, and powdered solids. The triboelectrification of particles during conveying causes particle agglomeration, spark discharges, and disruptions in particle flow, making particles move upstream against the fluid flow. The effect of frequency of particle injection on

Prototype Validation of a Large‐Scale CO2‐to‐Formate Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
Overall, the scaled‐up zero‐gap prototype exhibits superior formate production performance compared to the lab‐scale filter press reactor, although it operates at higher cell voltages. These findings confirm the scalability of this technology. The scale‐up of gas‐phase CO2 electroreduction to formate is crucial for its industrial application but ...

Study on the diffusion and migration law of CO2 sequestrated in abandoned coal mine goaf

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The goaf of an abandoned coal mine, endowed with expansive fracture spaces and an abundance of residual coal, can be capable of sequestrating substantial quantities of CO2. The residual coal is the principal medium for the sequestration of CO2 in the form of adsorption and the amount of sequestration is considerable.

Quantification of rheological parameters in deep‐sea mining plumes

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study explores the variations in rheological properties observed during the propagation of deep‐sea mining plumes, utilizing rheological test data obtained from kaolin clay plumes. Subsequently, taking into account the differences in sediment properties, the effects of clay content and clay mineral composition on the rheological parameters of ...
