Experimental measurement and computational fluid dynamics simulation of mixing in a stirred tank: a review

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Science, 2009
Stirred tanks are typically used in many reactions. The quality of mixing generated by the impellers can be determined using either experimental and simulation methods, or both methods. The experimental techniques have evolved from traditional approaches,

Cfd simulation of multiphase separators

open access: yes, 2010
The multiphase separators are generally the first and largest process equipment in an oil production platform, furthermore this primary separation step is a key element in the oil and gas production facilities in that downstream equipment, such as compressors, are completely dependent on the efficient performance of these multiphase separators.

The Gas‐Liquid Separation Characteristics Inside a Drainage Self‐Priming Pump Under Different Discharge Valve Openings

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
To investigate the influence of discharge valve opening on the self‐priming characteristics of a self‐priming pump, numerical calculations are conducted for four different discharge valve openings based on a circulation piping system. The hydraulic performance and the internal flow characteristics during self‐priming process are obtained.
