Identification and Tracking of Deep Convection Systems Over the Tibetan Plateau and Its Surrounding Areas in Summer Using All‐Day Cloud Physical Properties

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 21, 16 November 2025.
Abstract Deep convection systems (DCSs) over the Tibetan Plateau (TP) and its surrounding areas (SA) with full lifecycle have yet to be continuously tracked, and variations in DCS properties remain insufficiently explored. This study employs all‐day cloud physical properties to automatically identify and track DCSs in summer.

Constraint and gauge shocks in one-dimensional numerical relativity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We study how different types of blow-ups can occur in systems of hyperbolic evolution equations of the type found in general relativity. In particular, we discuss two independent criteria that can be used to determine when such blow-ups can be expected ...

SCRIPT: Predicting Single‐Cell Long‐Range Cis‐Regulation Based on Pretrained Graph Attention Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 41, November 6, 2025.
SCRIPT is a novel method inferring single‐cell cis‐regulatory relationships (CRRs) from transcriptomic and chromatin accessibility data. SCRIPT incorporates two key innovations: graph causal attention networks supported by empirical CRR evidence, and representation learning enhanced through pretraining on atlas‐scale single‐cell data.

Investigation of Minytrema melanops mortality in Woods Reservoir near the CFFF [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
The Department of Energy MHD Coal-Fired Flow Facility is located on Woods Reservoir at the University of Tennessee Space Institute. Part of the role of UTSI as participants in the DOE program is to document environmental aspects of coal-fired MHD. This document reports the findings of UTSI in investigating a fish kill on Woods Reservoir.

Artificial Intelligence‐Assisted Target Design for High‐Intensity Laser‐Driven Neutron Sources

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2025.
This study presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐assisted target design that combines particle‐in‐cell simulations with gradient ascent algorithm to optimize laser‐driven neutron sources. By enhancing the sheath electric field, the optimized structure increases neutron yield by a factor of 4,000.

MRI‐Based Computational Analysis of Upper Airway Aerodynamics in Obstructive Sleep Apnea on Mandibular Advancement Device Treatment Effects

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2025.
MRI technology can effectively capture the morphology of the upper airway during the inspiratory phase. Specifically, the findings from this case reveal that the mandibular advancement device can increase the volume of the velopharynx and the oropharynx, while reducing the maximum airflow velocity.
