Effect of the Arg16Gly β2‐Adrenergic Receptor Polymorphism on Long‐Term Mepolizumab Response and Clinical Remission in Severe Eosinophilic Asthma: A Genotype‐Stratified, Multicenter Study

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 734-749, March 2026.
This study examines the association between the rs1042713 (Arg16Gly) polymorphism of the β2‐adrenergic receptor and the risk of severe eosinophilic asthma, as well as its influence on mepolizumab long‐term effectiveness and clinical remission. The Arg16 allele is associated with increased risk of severe disease and potentially diminished long‐term ...

How Useful are Computable General Equilibrium Models for Sustainability Impact Assessment [PDF]

open access: yes
Computable general equilibrium (CGE) modelling represents a powerful tool for hypothesising possible sustainability outcomes that might be triggered with the implementation of policy proposals.

Molecular Landscape in Limb Anomalies: Diagnostic Yield and New Candidate Genes

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 109, Issue 3, Page 424-436, March 2026.
In 132 individuals with limb anomalies, diagnostic yield was 36% (47/132), including 25 novel variants, three cases with new phenotypes, and two candidate loci, HOXA11 and a small 2q31.1 deletion. Mouse data and exome‐wide analysis, key in identifying the candidate loci, represent an important opportunity for gene discovery.

Efficient management of backtracking in and-parallelism

open access: yes, 1986
A backtracking algorithm for AND-Parallelism and its implementation at the Abstract Machine level are presented: first, a class of AND-Parallelism models based on goal independence is defined, and a generalized version of Restricted AND-Parallelism (RAP)

Identification of BCL2L11 as a Candidate Gene for Hereditary Predisposition to Non‐Medullary Thyroid Cancer Using Familial Whole‐Exome‐Sequencing

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 109, Issue 3, Page 458-469, March 2026.
Whole‐exome sequencing of five families with non‐medullary thyroid cancer revealed three candidate genes. Functional analyses confirmed BCL2L11 as a strong candidate gene for hereditary predisposition to non‐medullary thyroid cancer. ABSTRACT Familial non‐medullary thyroid cancer, defined as two or more affected first‐degree relatives, accounts for 3 ...

Modelling the Effects of Immigration on Regional Economic Performance and the Wage Distribution: A CGE Analysis of Three EU Regions [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper uses a regional Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model to analyse the effects of immigration on three small remote EU regions located within Scotland, Greece and Latvia. Two migration scenarios are assessed.

Associations between steatotic liver disease subtypes and incident diabetes in young Korean adults: A nationwide cohort study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 1947-1955, March 2026.
Abstract Aims The impact of steatotic liver disease (SLD) subtypes on incident type 2 diabetes remains unclear. We investigated the association of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), MetALD (MASLD with moderate alcohol consumption), and alcohol‐related liver disease (ALD) with incident type 2 diabetes in Korean adults aged
