Precursor‐Modulated Synthesis Enables a Stable and Activatable Mn(III) Formate With the ReO3‐Type Topology

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We report a stable, activatable Mn(III)‐formate framework (Mn(HCOO)3), addressing a longstanding challenge in the synthesis of ReO3‐type M(III)‐formate MOFs. Mn(HCOO)3 matches the CO2 adsorption performance of its Al‐based analogue while incorporating a redox‐active, earth‐abundant metal.
