Fine Mapping of the Affecting Tillering and Plant Height Gene CHA-1 in Rice

open access: yesPlants, 2023
The plant architecture of rice is an important factor affecting yield. Strigolactones (SLs) are newly discovered carotenoid-derived plant hormones that play an important role in rice plant architecture. In this study, a high-tillering dwarf mutant, CHA-1,

Design and Modeling of a High‐Displacement, Skin‐Integrated Flexible Electromagnetic Actuator for Haptic Interfaces in Virtual Reality

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A flexible, skin‐integrated electromagnetic actuator is developed for wearable virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) haptic systems. A tunable design model enables control over displacement and resonance frequency. The system is validated through a custom VR application with a 6 × 4 actuator array, demonstrating real‐time, spatially targeted tactile ...

Very high-resolution terrain surveys of the Chã das Caldeiras lava fields (Fogo Island, Cape Verde) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Abstract. Fogo in the Cape Verde archipelago off Western Africa is one of the most prominent and active ocean island volcanoes on Earth, posing an important hazard to both local populations and at a regional level. The last eruption took place between 23 November 2014 and 8 February 2015 in the Chã das Caldeiras area at an elevation close to 1,800 m ...

Dual Effect of Steric Hindrance in Non‐Aqueous Amine Absorbents: Navigating the Trade‐Off Between Kinetics and Thermodynamics for Efficient CO2 Capture

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates how steric hindrance in amines creates a dual effect in CO2 capture: it thermodynamically favors the reaction by shifting the pathway from carbamate to alkyl carbonate formation, increasing capacity and lowering regeneration heat, while simultaneously slightly slowing the kinetics.

Isolation, identification and complete genome sequence analysis of a strain of foot-and-mouth disease virus serotype Asia1 from pigs in southwest of China

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2011
Backgroud Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) serotype Asia1 generally infects cattle and sheep, while its infection of pigs is rarely reported. In 2005-2007, FMD outbreaks caused by Asia1 type occurred in many regions of China, as well as some parts of ...

Interface Stabilization via In Situ Lithiated Sn Interlayer in All‐Solid‐State Li‐Metal Batteries: Toward Pellet‐Type Cell to Pouch‐Type Cell

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
An in situ lithiated Sn interlayer forms a stable, lithiophilic, and conductive interface that enables durable and scalable pouch‐type all‐solid‐state lithium metal batteries under low pressure. ABSTRACT All‐solid‐state batteries (ASSBs) are among the most promising candidates for next‐generation energy storage due to their high energy density and ...
