PURIFICAÇÃO E CARACTERIZAÇÃO PARCIAL DE UMA b -N ACETILHEXOSAMINIDASE EXTRAÍDA DO MOLUSCO MARINHO ANADARA NOTABILIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013

Gill Na+, K+-ATPase as a function of size and salinity in the blue crab, Callinectes sapidus Rathbun [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Some kinetic properties of gill Na+,K+-ATPase of the blue crab, Callinectes sapidus, and its relation to osmotic regulation in juvenile and adult crabs were analyzed.

Geryonid crabs and associated continental slope fauna: a research workshop report [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Considerable research in recent years has been invested in the basic biology, ecology, and fisheries of deep-water crabs, Family Geryonidae. These efforts have been concentrated off the southeastern United States and southwest Africa, following ...

Disturbance in the anchialine ecosystem: ramifications for ecology and physiology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Habitats in the anchialine ecosystem are defined as coastal ponds, pools, and caves that lack surface connections to the open ocean, but possess both seawater and freshwater influences due to subterranean connections to the ocean and groundwater.

Ovary of the golden crab, Chaceon fenneri: I. Post‐spawning and oosorption

Journal of Morphology, 1992
AbstractOosorption has been considered an important strategy in many invertebrate species which occurs in response to behavioral, ecological, or physiological factors. In crustaceans, the early light microscopic studies of the ovary attributed a role in oosorption to follicle cells, hemocytes, or phagocytes.

Oxygen consumption of the deep-sea crabs Chaceon fenneri and C. quinquedens (Brachyura: Geryonidae)

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1991
1. 1. Oxygen consumption rates (VO2) were determined for the deep-sea crabs Chaceon fenneri and C. quinquedens, two important members of the continental slope megafauna in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. 2. 2. The VO2 of C. fenneri declined from 0.014 ml O2/g/hr at 12°C to 0.010 ml O2/g/hr at 6°C; VO2 of C. quinquedens showed a decline from 0.012 ml

Respiratory and Cardiovascular Responses of Two Species of Deep-Sea Crabs, Chaceon Fenneri and C. Quinquedens, in Normoxia and Hypoxia

Journal of Crustacean Biology, 1990
The respiratory and cardiovascular variables in Chaceon fenneri and C. quinquedens were examined in animals during normoxia, animals exposed to hypoxia, and animals allowed to recover in normoxia. Chaceonfenneri was characterized by a relatively low metabolic rate (low oxygen uptake), and low ventilatory frequency.
