Biotransformation of Gambogenic Acid by CICC 2445 [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2012
Microbial transformation of gambogenic acid ( 1 ), a caged polyprenylated xanthone isolated from the resin of Garcinia hanburyi , was carried out with Chaetomium globosum CICC 2445, after screening forty-six strains of filamentous fungi.

Onychomycosis Caused byChaetomium globosum [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Dermatology, 2013
Onychomycosis is usually caused by dermatophytes, but some nondermatophytic molds and yeasts are also associated with invasion of nails. The genus Chaetomium is a dematiaceous nondermatophytic mold found in soil and plant debris as a saprophytic fungus. We report the first Korean case of onychomycosis caused by Chaetomium globosum in a 35-year-old male.

Aspergillus Was the Dominant Genus Found during Diversity Tracking of Potentially Pathogenic Indoor Fungal Isolates

open access: yesPathogens, 2022
Viable airborne pathogenic fungi represent a potential health hazard when exposing vulnerable persons in quantities exceeding their resilience. In this study, 284 indoor fungal isolates from a strain collection of indoor fungi were screened for ...

Further Observations on the Sporulation of Chaetomium globosum [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1951
SUMMARY: Extracts of a strain of Aspergillus fumigatus stimulate fruiting of Chaetomium globosum, but the factor responsible is not identical with that present in jute extract. Hexose phosphates, although stimulating fruiting, do not account for the activity of the jute extract.

Mycobiota and mycotoxin-producing fungi in southern California: their colonisation and in vitro interactions

open access: yesMycology, 2022
Fungal contamination in water-damaged houses has become a major concern because of their potential health effects. During our survey in 100 water-damaged houses in southern California, we have reported 42 outdoor and 14 indoor fungal species throughout ...

The Effect of a Physical Barrier on Sporulation of Chaetomium globosum [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1956
SUMMARY: Increased production of perithecia by Chaetomium globosum in the neighbourhood of a physical barrier which impedes the growth of the colony is associated with a locally increased concentration in the medium of organic phosphates excreted by the organism, caused by unequal diffusion of these compounds owing to the presence of the barrier.

Transformation of Chaetomium globosum with hygromycin B resistance plasmids pCB1003

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2001
Genetic transformation has been achieved by incubating protoplasts from Chaetomium globosum with plasmid PCB1003. The efficiency was 1-2 transformants/μg vector DNA.

SELECTION OF BIOCONTROL AGENTS FOR CONTROL OF ONION WHITE ROT DISEASE [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Production, 2006
Isolation of bioagents was carried out from rhizoplane of healthy onion plants, 70 and 120 days after transplanting from different governorates, i.e. El-Behera; EI- Sharkia; Beni-Swif and El-Menia.

Combination of DNA barcoding, targeted metabolite profiling and multispectral imaging to identify mold species and metabolites in sliced bread

open access: yesFuture Foods, 2022
Mould is a ubiquitous threat to safe food. In this work, a combination of three reliable methods to identify mould present in food at the species level is presented, to estimate the safety of the apparently non-moldy slices of bread and therefore ...

Functional analysis of a chaetoglobosin A biosynthetic regulator in Chaetomium globosum

open access: yesFungal Biology, 2021
Cytochalasins are a group of fungal secondary metabolites with diverse structures and bioactivities, including chaetoglobosin A production. Chaetoglobosin A is produced by Chaetomium globosum and has potential antifungal activity. Bioinformatics analysis of the chaetoglobosin A gene cluster (che) showed it that consists of nine open reading frames ...
