Growth and Mycotoxin Production by Chaetomium globosum Is Favored in a Neutral pH
Chaetomium globosum is frequently isolated in water-damaged buildings and produces two mycotoxins called chaetoglobosins A and C when cultured on building material. In this study, the influence of ambient pH on the growth of C.

Onychomycosis caused by Chaetomium globosum Kunze
Mycopathologia, 1991In this paper we report a case of onychomycosis caused by Chaetomium globosum. The patient had lesions of the fingernails of the left hand. The direct microscopical examination of the nails showed light-brown hyphae with thick-walled cells. The histopathological examination revealed thick aggregated hyphal element in the nail plate.

The meiotic configuration of Chaetomium globosum
Mycopathologia et Mycologia Applicata, 1973Nuclear behavior during ascus development inChaetomium globosum was studied with the use of acetocarmine and aceto-orcein staining techniques. The chromosome behavior, including centriolar bodies and asynchronous disjunction of chromosomes, agreed with the basic pattern reported in Ascomycetes (Olive, 1965).

Cytotoxic Chaetoglobosins from the EndophyteChaetomium globosum
Planta Medica, 2010Two new alkaloids chaetoglobosins V (1) and W (2), together with the six known congeners 3-8, were isolated through bioassay-guided fractionations from the EtOAc extract of a solid culture of Chaetomium globosum IFB-E041. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including mainly 1D and 2D NMR techniques.

Bioassays guided isolation of compounds from Chaetomium globosum
Journal de Mycologie Médicale, 2014The aim of the present study was to evaluate different biological activities of the fungus Chaetomium globosum (family Chaetomiaceae). The evaluation was done through testing its antimicrobial, antioxidant and anticancer effects. C. globosum was isolated from the Cucumber soil (rhizosphere) and caused inhibition of the mycelial growth of Fusarium ...

A bacteriolytic enzyme from Chaetomium globosum, a marine-isolate
Archiv fr Mikrobiologie, 1973When a marine-isolate, Chaetomium globosum was cultivated in a medium with an increased MgCl2 content, a bacteriolytic enzyme was extracellularly produced. The enzyme was purified approximately 130-fold. It lyzed Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus lysodeikticus and several other Gram-positive bacteria.

Cytotoxic azaphilone alkaloids from Chaetomium globosum TY1
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2013Three novel azaphilone alkaloids, namely chaetomugilides A-C (1-3), together with three related compounds (4-6) were isolated from the methanol extract of Chaetomium globosum TY1, an endophytic fungus isolated from Ginkgo biloba. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive 1D and 2D NMR as well as HRESI-MS spectroscopic data analysis ...

Requirement of LaeA for sporulation, pigmentation and secondary metabolism in Chaetomium globosum
Fungal Biology, 2021The global regulator LaeA has been confirmed to govern the production of secondary metabolites in fungi. Herein, we examined the role of LaeA in Chaetomium globosum. Similarly as observed in other filamentous, CgLaeA had a significant effect on the secondary metabolism.

Chaetoglobosin Y, a new cytochalasan from Chaetomium globosum
Fitoterapia, 2014Chaetoglobosin Y (1), was isolated from the endolichenic fungal strain Chaetomium globosum (No. 64-5-8-2), along with related six known cytochalasans, chaetoglobosin Fex (2), chaetoglobosin E (3), isochaetoglobosin D (4), chaetoglobosin G (5), cytoglobosin B (6), and cytoglobosin C (7).

Four cytochalasin alkaloids produced by Chaetomium globosum
Tetrahedron Letters, 2020Abstract A new adduct of chaetoglobosin and aureonitol derivative, aureochaeglobosin D, with three new alkaloids cytoglobosin J-L were isolated from the solid culture of an endophytic Chaetomium globosum harbored in Pinellia ternata. The structures were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic analysis.
