Requirement of LaeA for sporulation, pigmentation and secondary metabolism in Chaetomium globosum
Fungal Biology, 2021The global regulator LaeA has been confirmed to govern the production of secondary metabolites in fungi. Herein, we examined the role of LaeA in Chaetomium globosum. Similarly as observed in other filamentous, CgLaeA had a significant effect on the secondary metabolism.

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1979The sapwood of Tilia europaea L. was found to possess a substance capable of inhibiting germination of ascospores of Chaetomium globosum Kunze ex Fr. The inhibitory substance could be leached from sapwood blocks placed end grain in contact with water agar. Volatile activity of the substance was also demonstrated after oven sterilization of the wood.

Biotransformation of pseudolaric acid B by Chaetomium globosum
Process Biochemistry, 2011Pseudolaric acid B (1) is a natural product with potent antifungal activity. We discovered that pseudolaric acid B did not kill but only suppress the growth of the filamentous fungus Chaetomium globosum. It was proposed that pseudolaric acid B was converted to metabolites with decreased antifungal activities.
