Onychomycosis caused by Chaetomium globosum Kunze
Mycopathologia, 1991In this paper we report a case of onychomycosis caused by Chaetomium globosum. The patient had lesions of the fingernails of the left hand. The direct microscopical examination of the nails showed light-brown hyphae with thick-walled cells. The histopathological examination revealed thick aggregated hyphal element in the nail plate.

Indole Alkaloids from Chaetomium globosum
Journal of Natural Products, 2015Two new indole alkaloids chaetocochin J (1) and chaetoglobinol A (8), along with chetomin (2), chetoseminudin A (3), cochliodinol (9), and semicochliodinol (10), were isolated from the rice culture of the fungus Chaetomium globosum. Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis.

A bacteriolytic enzyme from Chaetomium globosum, a marine-isolate
Archiv f�r Mikrobiologie, 1973When a marine-isolate, Chaetomium globosum was cultivated in a medium with an increased MgCl2 content, a bacteriolytic enzyme was extracellularly produced. The enzyme was purified approximately 130-fold. It lyzed Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus lysodeikticus and several other Gram-positive bacteria.
