Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Two-dimensional cyclic codes over a finite chain ring

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica
In this paper, we have determined the generators and rank of a 2D cyclic code of length mn over a finite chain ring ℛ with residue field 𝔽q, where m is arbitrary and q ≡ 1(mod n).

(E)-4-[(1,5-Dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)iminomethyl]phenyl 4-bromobenzenesulfonate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2008
In the title compound, C24H20BrN3O4S, the central benzene ring makes dihedral angles of 17.13 (13), 39.83 (13) and 58.37 (13)°, respectively, with the pyrazolone ring, the bromobenzene ring and the terminal phenyl ring.

Quotient rings, chain conditions and injective ring endomorphisms [PDF]

open access: yesGlasgow Mathematical Journal, 1989
In this paper, the situation we shall be concerned with is that of a ring R, with a ring monomorphism α: R → R, which will not be assumed to be surjective.Much work has been done on the skew polynomial ring R[x, α] and the skew Laurent polynomial ring R[x, x-1, α], where α is an automorphism—see [3] for example.

Crystal structure of 5-[2-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)ethyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thione

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2017
The title compound, C16H13N3OS, comprises an oxadiazolethione ring bound to the N atom of an almost planar carbazole ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0088 Å) through an ethylene chain. The oxadiazole ring is inclined to the the carbazole ring system by
