Connecting the Dots: Associative Transfer and Inference at 6 Months of Age. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Infants continuously pick up incidental information about their environmental surroundings, expressing only a small fraction of what they learn. The present experiments examined whether 6‐month‐olds can transfer learning between stimuli they never see together through mnemonic networks.

On the omega-limit sets of tent maps [PDF]
For a continuous map f on a compact metric space (X,d), a subset D of X is internally chain transitive if for every x and y in D and every delta > 0 there is a sequence of points {x=x_0,x_1, ...,x_n=y} such that d(f(x_i),x_{i+1}) < delta for i=0,1, ...,n-

Drought and pluvial transitions have attracted widespread attention. However, the dynamic evolution and underlying mechanisms of drought and pluvial transitions remain poorly understood.

On the cognitive nature of verb transitivity in English [PDF]
The traditional view of the transitivity of a verb as its ability to have a direct complement in the accusative case does not reflect the core essence of this verb characteristic.

Are Rank Orders Mentally Represented by Spatial Arrays?
The present contribution argues that transitive reasoning, as exemplified in paradigms of linear order construction in mental space, is associated with spatial effects.

A Type of the Shadowing Properties for Generic View Points
We show that if a C 1 generic diffeomorphism of a closed smooth two-dimensional manifold has the average shadowing property or the asymptotic average shadowing property, then it is Anosov.

From the origins to the stream of consciousness and its neural correlates
There are now dozens of very different theories of consciousness, each somehow contributing to our understanding of its nature. The science of consciousness needs therefore not new theories but a general framework integrating insights from those, yet not

Phase Transitions in Dissipative Josephson Chains
ABSTRACTWe study the zero temperature phase transitions of a chain of Josephson junctions, taking into account the quantum fluctuations due to the charging energy and the effects of an Ohmic dissipation. We map the problem onto a generalized Coulomb gas model, which then is transformed into a sine-Gordon field theory.

On the topology of the chain recurrent set of a dynamical system
n this paper we associate a pseudo-metric to a dynamical system on a compact metric space. We show that this pseudo-metric is identically zero if and only if the system is chain transitive.
