Equational Reasonings in Wireless Network Gossip Protocols [PDF]
Gossip protocols have been proposed as a robust and efficient method for disseminating information throughout large-scale networks. In this paper, we propose a compositional analysis technique to study formal probabilistic models of gossip protocols ...

Strong chain transitivity in hyperspaces of uniform spaces
We apply topological definitions of strong chain transitivity and characterizetopological strong chain transitivity for the induced maps on hyperspaces ofuniform spaces.

Illuminating Systemic Functional Grammatics (Theory) as a Viable Tool of Digital Humanities
The focus of the study is the application of Systemic Functional Grammatics (SFG) to text as a facility of meaning-making. Having provided a wide room for technological devices to read and account for elements of a text, it portrays the exercise within ...

On almost specification and average shadowing properties
In this paper we study relations between almost specification property, asymptotic average shadowing property and average shadowing property for dynamical systems on compact metric spaces.

Discrete Temporal Models of Social Networks [PDF]
We propose a family of statistical models for social network evolution over time, which represents an extension of Exponential Random Graph Models (ERGMs).

Landau-Zener transitions in chains
We determine transition probabilities in two exactly solvable multistate Landau-Zener (LZ) models and discuss applications of our results to the theory of dynamic passage through a phase transition in the dissipationless quantum mechanical regime. In particular, we show that statistics of particles in a new phase demonstrate scaling behavior.

Excitation Chains at the Glass Transition [PDF]
The excitation-chain theory of the glass transition, proposed in an earlier publication, predicts diverging, super-Arrhenius relaxation times and, {\it via} a similarly diverging length scale, suggests a way of understanding the relations between dynamic and thermodynamic properties of glass-forming liquids.

Phase dynamics of a multimode Bose condensate controlled by decay
The relative phase between two uncoupled BE condensates tends to attain a specific value when the phase is measured. This can be done by observing their decay products in interference.

Phase transitions in isolated vortex chains [PDF]
In very anisotropic layered superconductors (e.g. Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CaCu$_2$O$_x$) a tilted magnetic field can penetrate as two co-existing lattices of vortices parallel and perpendicular to the layers. At low out-of-plane fields the perpendicular vortices form a set of isolated vortex chains, which have recently been observed in detail with scanning Hall ...
