Off-chaining Models and Approaches to Off-chain Computations
SERIAL@Middleware, 2018Off-chaining has been suggested to enhance scalablity and privacy of blockchains, especially in public networks. However, a systematic classification is missing.

Chain Statistics: Wormlike Chains
2016This chapter presents the foundation of the statistical mechanics of the KP wormlike chain. In particular, there is a detailed description of the formulation of the model and the theoretical methods which can also be applied to the statistical mechanics of the HW chain developed in the next chapter.

Embedding Right Chain Rings in Chain Rings [PDF]
The following problem was the starting point for this investigation: Can every desarguesian affine Hjelmslev plane be embedded into a desarguesian projective Hjelmslev plane [8]? An affine Hjelmslev plane is called desarguesian if it can be coordinatized by a right chain ring R with a maximal ideal J(R) consisting of two-sided zero divisors.

This book shows how the Jay family, abolitionists and slaveholders alike, embodied the contradictions of the revolutionary age. The Jays of New York were a preeminent founding family. John Jay, diplomat, Supreme Court justice, and coauthor of the Federalist Papers, and his children and grandchildren helped chart the course of the Early American ...

More advanced technologies demand higher degrees of specialization - and longer chains of production connecting raw inputs to final outputs. Longer production chains are subject to a "weakest link" effect: they are more fragile and more prone to failure.

Abstract Useful models of the real world have to satisfy two conflicting requirements: they must be sufficiently complicated to describe complex systems, but they must also be sufficiently simple for us to analyse them. This chapter introduces Markov chains, which have successfully modelled a huge range of scientific and social phenomena,

Invariant chain, a chain of command
Trends in Immunology, 2003Abstract Invariant chain (Ii) is a type II integral membrane protein, which acts as a chaperone for MHC class II protein expression and facilitates antigen presentation. Recently, an additional role for Ii in the differentiation of immature to mature B cells has been described.
