A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

The molecular basis of thioredoxin reductase inhibition by antibacterial gold(I) compounds is disclosed. X‐ray crystallography and high‐resolution ESI‐MS reveal selective gold coordination to catalytically relevant cysteine residues of Bc‐TrxR, leading to stable protein–gold adducts and disruption of enzyme redox activity.

This study reveals that square planar Pd and Pt complexes can act as nucleophiles, forming directional triel bonds with boron‐based acceptors. Using energy decomposition analysis (EDA), quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM), and natural bond orbital (NBO), we demonstrate a transition from dispersion‐driven to dative‐covalent interactions.

Chalcogen⋅⋅⋅π Bonding Catalysis
Angewandte Chemie - International Edition, 2021AbstractWhile the presence of sulfur⋅⋅⋅π bonding interaction is a general phenomenon in the biological systems, the exploitation of this noncovalent force in a chemical process yet remains elusive. Herein, we describe the concept of chalcogen⋅⋅⋅π bonding catalysis that activates molecules of π systems through the interaction between chalcogen and π ...
