Bioleaching of chalcopyrite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This research is concerned with the bioleaching of chalcopyrite (CuFeS\(_2\)) by Thiobacillus ferrooxidans (ATCC 19859), which has been carried out in shake flasks (250 ml) and a 4-litre stirred tank bioreactor.

2-hydroxyphosphonoacetic Acid to Eliminate the Adverse Effect of Serpentine on Chalcopyrite Flotation

open access: yesKuangchan zonghe liyong
This is an article in the field of mineral processing engineering. For the flotation of sulfide ores whose gangue mineral is serpentine, serpentine can deteriorate the flotation of sulfide ores due to its easy mudification.

Liquid Copper and Iron Production from Chalcopyrite, in the Absence of Oxygen

open access: yesMetals, 2022
Clean energy infrastructure depends on chalcopyrite: the mineral that contains 70% of the world’s copper reserves, as well as a range of precious and critical metals.

Replacement of Ores Recorded by Textures and Chemical Compositions of Sphalerite: An Example From the Furutobe Kuroko Deposit, Akita, Japan

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Coupled dissolution‐reprecipitation of early formed Cd‐, Fe‐, Ag‐ and Sb‐poor sphalerite through interaction with high‐temperature and high‐sulphur fugacity Cu‐rich fluids, responsible for the formation of the yellow ores, resulted in the formation of Cd‐, Fe‐, Ag‐ and Sb‐rich, heavily chalcopyrite‐diseased sphalerite and enrichment of critical metals ...

Notable Impact of Paleotectonic Stress on Gold Mineralisation in the West Qinling Orogen

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
By applying fuzzy clustering and multiple inverse methods, we systematically processed the data of vein and fault slip in this ore deposit to reveal the transition of orogenic geological environment and paleotectonic stress field. Our research results show two different stress states: the northwest–southeast extensional stress field and the northeast ...

Sulfur isotope rations of sulfide minerals from the deposit of the Tsuchikura mine, Shiga Prafecture, Japan

open access: yes, 1998
Sulfur isotope rations of sulfide minerals in the ore specimens from the deposit of the Tsuchikura mine are distrib-uted in a range from -0.8 to 5.4%, mostly from +0.5 to 3.0%, close to the previous data (from +1 to +3%) by Miyake and Sasaki (1980).

Geochemical and Geological Investigation of Skarn‐Type Pb–Zn Mineralization in Hastanetepe (Balya‐Balıkesir, Türkiye): An Approach Based on Fluid Inclusions, Sulphur Isotopes and Geochemical Data

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Integrated petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical data from the Hastanetepe Pb–Zn deposit (Balya, Türkiye) reveal multi‐stage hydrothermal alteration and a magmatic sulphur source. Fluid inclusion and sulphur isotope results indicate a complex fluid evolution responsible for skarn‐type Pb–Zn mineralization along limestone–dacite contacts ...

Geochemistry and Geochronology of Magmatic Rocks in Southwestern and Northeastern Cambodia: Implications for the Tectonic Evolution and Metallogenesis of the Loei Fold Belt

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
The composition of intrusive rocks suggests that the magma was likely generated in a subduction‐related setting. The arc crustal thickness in the Phnom Sro Ngam and Halo Prospects was probably < 40 km during emplacement. Zircon U–Pb age range indicates a correlation with Loei Fold Belt magmatic activity.

Near 13% Efficient Semitransparent Cu(In,Ga)S2 Solar Cells With Band Gap of 1.6 eV on Transparent Back Contact

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates progress in the development of wide‐bandgap CIGS solar cells featuring a transparent back contact, for the application of top cell in tandem devices. A semitransparent device with a bandgap of 1.6 eV achieved a power conversion efficiency of nearly 13% on an ITO back contact.
