Hornblendite in the Lower Crust: A Possible Source for Porphyry Cu Deposits

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Lower crustal sulfide‐bearing Cu‐rich cumulates, mainly occurring as hornblendite, have been proposed as a critical source component for the development of giant porphyry Cu deposits (PCDs); however, their mineralogical and geochemical nature remain elusive.

Characterisation of Thin Films CuIn1-xAlxSe2 Prepared by Selenisation of Magnetron Sputtered Metallic Precursors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Thin films of CuIn1-xAlxSe2 have been produced by the selenisation of magnetron sputtered Cu/In/Al precursor layers using elemental selenium and the chemical and physical properties of the layers have been determined for different conditions of synthesis.

Ediacara Obscura: Unveiling Hidden Magnetisations in the Fen Complex, Southern Norway

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Paleomagnetic directions found in Ediacaran (635–539 Ma) rocks are widely dispersed, which has led to conflicting hypotheses about tectonic regimes and geomagnetic field behavior during this period, and raised doubts about the fidelity of the paleomagnetic record.

Study of the Electrochemical Passive-Active Transition of Chalcopyrite in Acidic Solution

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2016
The electrochemical behaviors of chalcopyrite in 1.0 M H2SO4 were studied by potentiodynamic polarization. The experimental results revealed that chalcopyrite has four different potential ranges: passive for OCP up to 500 mV; trans-passive dissolution ...

Ellipsometry Optical Gas Sensor of SnO2/Porous‐Si Heterostructure for Organic Compounds Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents a low‐temperature optical gas sensing platform based on tin dioxide (SnO2) thin films deposited on porous silicon (por‐Si) substrates. The por‐Si scaffold was fabricated electrochemically, followed by SnO2 deposition via RF magnetron sputtering.

Compositions of Cu-(Fe)-Sulfides in the 109 Reduced Granite-Related Cu Deposit, Xinjiang, Northwest China: Implications to the Characteristics of Ore-Forming Fluids

open access: yesGeofluids, 2020
In general, porphyry Cu deposit is related to the highly oxidized ore-forming system. However, there are many porphyry Cu deposits that are related to the reduced ore-forming system, and the ore-forming characteristics of reduced porphyry Cu deposit are ...

Sodium Induced Beneficial Effects in Wide Bandgap Cu(In,Ga)S2 Solar Cell With 15.7% Efficiency

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, Volume 34, Issue 4, Page 439-452, April 2026.
Wide bandgap Cu(In,Ga)S2 absorbers grown on soda‐lime glass (SLG) were optimized by introducing additional sodium (Na) via in situ NaF co‐evaporation. Optimal Na incorporation enhanced crystallinity, minimized Ga fluctuations across the depth, suppressed bulk defects, and reduced non‐radiative losses.

Effect of Ultrasonic Pre-Treatment and Aeration on Flotation Separation of Chalcopyrite from Pyrite [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2018
In this paper, the effect of ultrasonic pre-treatment and aeration on the flotation separation of chalcopyrite from pyrite was investigated at different amounts of potassium ethyl xanthate (KEX), as a collector, and pH values.
