This study sheds light on how lithological substrates can shape community leaf functional diversity by creating environmental filters of varying intensities. It highlights the importance of studying intraspecific functional variation and provides an understanding of the complex link between soil and leaf functional traits.

Characterization, variability and long‐term trends on local climate in a Mexican tropical dry forest
We studied long‐term climatic trends from 1982 to 2021 in the Chamela‐Cuixmala Biosphere Reserve, where tropical dry forest is predominant. We found an increasing temperature trend and evidence that the wet season is getting wetter, while the dry season will likely become drier.
