This study compares the use of two universal molecular markers (COI and 18S rRNA) with morphological identification to evaluate patterns in diatom communities from high mountain mires. The results revealed a strong correspondence in beta diversity and environmental response across beta and alpha diversity. However, these molecular markers were found to

We highlight how agrestal environments and maternal effects may facilitate the adaptation of crop‐wild hybrid sunflower to agroecosystems. We present two consecutive years of data on diverse wild and reciprocal crop‐wild hybrid sunflower populations planted in three contrasting, ruderal or agrestal, environments. Separating Sampling Bias From Abundance Shows That Different Methods Catch Different Wild Bees
Comparing community sampling methods' relative taxonomic biases is critical to interpreting the data they collect, but measuring bias explicitly is difficult when methods also produce different sample sizes. Here, we control for absolute abundance while comparing sample composition and richness of three common methods for sampling wild bee communities.

A low‐cost clip gauge extensometer for crack mouth opening displacement was developed from accessible procedures and materials. Accuracy and repeatability comparable to commercial devices were demonstrated in calibration and fracture tests, enabling reliable measurement in CT specimens for resource‐constrained laboratories.
