Huayan Buddhism of Euisang Line in its Tendency toward Chan Buddhism
Sogang Journal of Early Korean History, 2010의상과 의상계의 화엄사상은 중국 화엄교학과는 구별되는 독자성을 가지고 있다. 이 같은 독자성은 신라 下代로 갈수록 더욱 강화되었던 것으로 보인다. 본 논문은 이 같은 의상계 화엄의 독자성이 성립된 원인의 하나로서 ‘禪的 경향성’에 주목하였다. 본 논문에서는 의상 및 의상계 화엄의 ‘禪的 경향성’의 사례로 다음의 네 가지 사항을 지적하였다. 첫째, 이 선적 경향성의 원천으로, 의상의 『화엄일승법계도』 에 나타나는 북종선 문헌 『大乘五方便門』의 영향을 지적할 수 있다. 즉 의상의 화엄사상은 성립과정에 이미 북종선의 영향을 받고 있다. 둘째, 師資相承의 계보의식이 나타난다. 사자상승의 전승의식이 비교적 명확하게 드러나며, 그
