Distributionally Robust Chance Constrained Data-Enabled Predictive Control [PDF]
In this article we study the problem of finite-time constrained optimal control of unknown stochastic linear time-invariant (LTI) systems, which is the key ingredient of a predictive control algorithm—albeit typically having access to a model. We propose

Melittin-lipid nanoparticles target to lymph nodes and elicit a systemic anti-tumor immune response
The bee venom melittin has anti-tumor properties but is unsuitable for therapeutic use on its own. Here, the authors generate melittin-nanoparticles and demonstrate that the nanoparticles reduce tumor growth and generate an anti-tumor immune response.

In the article, first I present the atheistic argument from pointless evil and the argument from chance. The essence of the argument from chance consists in the incompatibility of the existence of purposeless events and the existence of a God who planned

LEM’S PHILOSOPHY OF CHANCE IN HIS FICTION AND NON-FICTION [PDF]
Stanislaw Lem recognizes the far-reaching role of chance both in gaining knowledge and in explaining the development of cultural norms. The consequences are explored by him in fiction and non-fiction.

This chapter is concerned with the ontological dimension of probability, or physical chance. It first reviews the history of probability, and locates the birth of the contemporary form of objective probability in the works of Christian Huygens (1629-1695) and Pierre Simon Laplace (1749-1827).

The Chances of Propensities [PDF]
This article argues that if propensities are displayed in objective physical chances, then the appropriate representation of these chances is as indexed probability functions. Two alternative formal models or accounts for the relation between propensity properties and their chancy or probabilistic manifestations, in terms of conditionals and ...

High-throughput imaging methods for brain-wide connectome mapping with precise location reference have been lacking. Here authors report a method that allows simultaneous acquisition of fluorescently labelled neurons and cytoarchitectural landmarks in ...

Jean* stared past us into the hereafter, barely moving except to gasp. Pale and emaciated, her breathing noisy, shallow, and fast, she clung to life by a thinning thread. The receiving casualty officer in A&E had given the 90 year old an intravenous line, started antibiotics, and referred to the on-call medics.
