Agronomic and Post-Harvest Performance of Strawberry Cultivars in High Tunnel and Open-Field Environment in Southeast Virginia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fruit Science
This study evaluated crop yield potential, season extension, and post-harvest parameters of strawberry cultivars grown in open-field and high tunnel, annual hill production systems. Tested cultivars included “Albion,” “Camino Real,” “Chandler,” “Merced,”

Adding a Correction Factor to the Allocation of Scarce Life-saving Resources in a Pandemic

open access: yesVoices in Bioethics, 2022
Photo by Richard Catabay on Unsplash ABSTRACT COVID-19 exposed deep-rooted structural inequities. Allocation protocols developed during COVID-19 may cause furtherance of structural inequalities.

Estimation of the pole tide gravimetric factor at the chandler period through wavelet filtering [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 2007
SUMMARY Wavelet analysis for filtering is used to improve estimation of gravity variations induced by Chandler wobble. This method eliminate noise in superconducting gravimeter (SG) records with bandpass filters derived from Daubechies wavelet. The SG records at four European stations (Brussels, Membach, Strasbourg and Vienna) are analysed in this ...

Estimating non-linear site response by single period approximation

open access: yes, 2006
Site effects characterize the filtering mechanisms within the soil sedimentary layers overlying bedrock. In regions of high seismicity such as California where strong motion records are relatively abundant, site coefficients can be developed by ...

Food‐Related Attentional Biases in Restrained Eaters: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Dietary restraint may contribute to the development and maintenance of eating disorders (EDs), with food‐related attentional biases (ABs) as a key underlying mechanism. We examined associations between dietary restraint and ABs and explored how several methodological factors (i.e., AB mechanism, mode of AB investigation, response ...

Distant-earthquake simulations considering source rupture propagation: refining the seismic hazard of Hong Kong

open access: yes, 2006
Deterministic and probabilistic seismic hazard analyses should be complementary, in the sense that probabilistic analysis may be used to identify the controlling deterministic design-level earthquake events, and more sophisticated models of these events ...

Practice adoption in MNCS: A multi‐level interactionist model of trait activation

open access: yesGlobal Strategy Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Sharing knowledge through organizational practices is an important source of advantage for multinational corporations (MNCs). While prior research on practice adoption by subsidiaries of MNCs has identified several individual and organizational factors, this study examines their interplay in the context of HQ‐mandated ...

Chandler's period in the mean sea level

open access: yesTellus, 1964
The constants of the Chandlerian oscillation in the mean sea level are calculated for nine ports and the results compared with those of the International Latitude Service. The Chandler period is clearly observed and the amplitudes are large enough. The phase differences greatly depend upon the selected localities. DOI: 10.1111/j.2153-3490.1964.tb00186.

Maternal depression across childhood and offspring young adult depression and anxiety: Testing adolescent emotion dynamics as transdiagnostic mechanisms

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Early exposure to maternal depression can increase risk for offspring mental health problems across the lifespan. Less is known about the transdiagnostic pathways through which maternal depression influences offspring mental health risk in young adulthood.
