Barriers and opportunities for consumption of invasive lionfish in Belize

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 7, Issue 11, Page 2777-2793, November 2025.
Abstract Invasive lionfish (Pterois spp.) have rapidly spread across the Western Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea. They reproduce frequently and consume native marine life important to livelihoods and reef health. To combat the deleterious impacts of this species, management efforts in Belize and throughout the invaded range have included development of ...

Seasonal Differences in Fish Community Structure in the Upper Yangtze River Based on eDNA Metabarcoding: A Multi‐Dimensional Analysis

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
This study used eDNA metabarcoding to detect seasonal fish diversity in the upper Yangtze River, analyzing species composition and functional groups. Multiple diversity indices (α‐diversity, functional, taxonomic, and phylogenetic diversity) were employed to explore seasonal changes in fish communities.

Environmental DNA Reveals the Fish Community Structure Exhibited Instability and Trend of Miniaturization in the Xijiang River Basin of the Guizhou

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2025.
Monitoring of fish communities is of great significance for the management and sustainability of river ecosystems. Environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding technology has been demonstrated to be a highly sensitive biomonitoring tool. Nevertheless, it has seldom been tested in mountainous rivers within the geographically complex Karst region.

The Potential Role of Haploblocks in the Persistence of Small, Isolated Populations of Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2025.
Small brook trout populations inhabit streams of the North Mountain, Nova Scotia, where western streams have different environmental characteristics. Low‐coverage whole genome sequencing was performed on 192 brook trout, and analyses showed the presence of potential inversions among individuals of only western populations.

牛山湖两种优势小型鱼类空间分布与沉水植被的关系! [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012

Use of Liquid Nitrogen in Food Products: A Review

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 6, Issue 4, Page 1617-1644, July 2025.
ABSTRACT The increasing demand for frozen products has led companies to offer a variety of foods that may struggle to maintain quality. Traditional freezing methods often negatively impact food quality, affecting texture, color, flavor, and so forth.

Biomagnification of PBDEs and alternative brominated flame retardants in a predatory fish: Using fatty acid signature as a primer

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2019
Information on biomagnification of alternative brominated flame retardants (ABFRs) is limited and results are inconclusive, due in part to uncertainty in the understanding of predator/prey relationships.
