Channel Shortening for Nonlinear Satellite Channels

IEEE Communications Letters, 2012
We design of an efficient channel shortener for nonlinear satellite channels. When the memory of the channel is too large to be taken into account by a full complexity detector, excellent performance can be achieved by properly filtering the received signal followed by a reduced-state detector.

Channelling and channelling radiation

Nature, 1987
The study of channelling phenomena has developed rapidly since the early 1960s and today channelling has found many applications. The radiation emitted by channelled megaelectronvolt and gigaelectronvolt electrons and positrons has been investigated extensively and the possibility of, for example, constructing intense tunable X- and γ-ray sources is ...

Pacemaker Channels

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2004
Abstract: The pacemaker “funny” current (If) has been the object of detailed investigations since its original description in sinoatrial node myocytes in the late 1970s; its role in underlying generation of spontaneous activity and autonomic modulation of cardiac rate has been amply demonstrated.
