Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Investigation on Channel Borrowing in Channel Assignment Problem

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Engineering and Applied Sciences, 2020
Mobile Communication is the use of technology that allows us to communicate with others in various locations without the use of any physical connection. The mobile communication system involves a large coverage area that serves a large geographical area.

Random channel assignment in the plane

open access: yesRandom Structures & Algorithms, 2003
AbstractIn the model for random radio channel assignment considered here, points corresponding to transmitters are thrown down independently at random in the plane, and we must assign a radio channel to each point but avoid interference. In the most basic version of the model, we assume that there is a threshold d such that, in order to avoid ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Optimal Control Channel Selection for Wireless Channel Assignment [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2012
In wireless channel assignment, control channels are often needed for coordination among wireless devices. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for finding the optimal set of control channels given a number of wireless devices and the ranges of channels these devices can access.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...
