Channel estimation in fast fading channels
2008 Third International Conference on Communications and Networking in China, 2008Accurate radio channel estimation is necessary for efficient wireless communications. This paper proposes a novel Kalman filter algorithm using basis expansion models (BEMs) of the channel gains to accurately estimate fast fading channels. The channel state for finite duration blocks is summarized in terms of BEM coefficients.

In this chapter, we investigate the design of training sequences for time-multiplexed channel training in C-RANs. Orthogonal training sequences were shown to be optimal or nearly optimal in conventional MIMO systems, where the transmit antennas are co-located, and so are the receive antennas. However, orthogonal training design is very inefficient when

Simple estimators for HF channel estimation
Fourth IEEE Region 10 International Conference TENCON, 2003A comparison is made of four different estimators, for estimating the sampled impulse-response (SIR) of an HF radio link that is designed for the transmission of analog speech signals. The particular application studied is the transmission of digital data at 4800 bit/s, employing a serial quadrature phase shift keyed (QPSK) signal with a carrier ...

In this letter we propose a simple estimation scheme of the channel reliability factor for turbo decoding in Rayleigh fading channels with imperfect channel estimates. The channel reliability factor is required for iterative MAP decoding of turbo codes and depends on the error variance of the channel estimate as well as the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR ...

Channel sensing strategy for channel load estimation
Proceedings of the 14th ACM international conference on Modeling, analysis and simulation of wireless and mobile systems, 2011The emergence of multi-channel wireless networks and cognitive radio networks has rendered dynamic channel selection an important task, and many existing channel selection schemes factor in the amount of wireless activities that take place in each channel, or channel load, to achieve load balance and maximize the utilization of wireless resources.

Adaptive Channel Estimation in Side Channel Attacks
2018 IEEE International Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS), 2018Side channel attacks exploit physical information that leaks from the target implementations to extract secret information, for example keys. Since the observable physical leakages are dependent on the internal state of the cryptographic implementation, predicting (or profiling) this dependency, which is also called leakage model or leakage function ...

OFDM channel estimation with dispersive fading channels
The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications, 2012Abstract In this paper, we studied the channel estimation problem for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system when the statistics of the multi-path fading channel is not known or partial known. A channel estimation approach based on polynomial approximation of the channel response is proposed.

Parametric channel modeling based OFDM channel estimation
The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications, 2014Abstract A simplified parametric channel estimation approach was proposed for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Based on parametric channel model, this algorithm is composed of two parts: the estimation of channel parameters and channel interpolation. The exponentially embedded family (EEF) criterion is exploited to determine

Compressive channel estimation

Improved Channel Estimation Method jointing Channel Coding
2019 3rd International Conference on Electronic Information Technology and Computer Engineering (EITCE), 2019Traditional pilot-based channel estimation techniques are LS-based, MMSE-based and DFT-based mehtods. The LS-based channel estimation performance is worse than MMSE and DFT estimation due to the large noise impact. Although MMSE estimation has superior performance, MMSE estimation is difficult to implement because of matrix inversion during calculation
