Channel estimation using feedback [PDF]

open access: yes2008 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2008
It is well known from the information theory literature that in the presence of a memoryless channel, as well as some channels with memory, the existence of feedback does not improve channel capacity, but can contribute dramatically to the simplification of the encoder and the decoder.

Advanced Channel Estimation for MIMO-OFDM in Realistic Channel Conditions

open access: yes, 2007
An advanced decision-directed channel estimation scheme is proposed, which is suitable for employment in a wide range of multi-antenna multi-carrier systems as well as for communications over the entire range of practical channel conditions.

Harmony search aided iterative channel estimation, multiuser detection and channel decoding for DS-CDMA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A novel Multiuser Detection (MUD) scheme is proposed for DS-CDMA systems employing the so-called Harmony Search (HS) algorithm, which is a novel meta-heuristic optimisation method.

Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Decision Directed Channel Estimation Employing Projection Approximation Subspace Tracking

open access: yes, 2007
The attainable capacity and integrity of a state-of-the-art broadband multi-carrier communication system is highly sensitive to the accuracy of the information available concerning the channel conditions encountered.

Two-tier channel estimation aided near-capacity MIMO transceivers relying on norm-based joint transmit and receive antenna selection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We propose a norm-based joint transmit and receive antenna selection (NBJTRAS) aided near-capacity multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system relying on the assistance of a novel two-tier channel estimation scheme. Specifically, a rough estimate of the

Distributed Estimation with Channel Estimation Error over Orthogonal Fading Channels

open access: yes2007 Conference Record of the Forty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2007
We study distributed estimation of a source corrupted by an additive Gaussian noise and observed by sensors which are connected to a fusion center with unknown orthogonal (parallel) flat Rayleigh fading channels. The fading communication channels are estimated with training.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Iterative Channel Estimation for Block Transmission Systems without Cyclic Prefix [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper proposes iterative channel estimation algorithms for block transmission systems without cyclic prefix (CP). Which utilize the feedback information in a form of Log-likelihood ratio (LLR) to estimate the channel、 where Chained Turbo ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
