AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Impact of Hyperspectral Infrared Sounding Observation and Principal-Component-Score Assimilation on the Accuracy of High-Impact Weather Prediction

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2023
Observations from a hyperspectral infrared (IR) sounding interferometer such as the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) and the Cross-Track Infrared Sounder (CrIS) are crucial to numerical weather prediction (NWP).

Indoor MIMO channel sounding at 3.5 GHz [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE Middle East Conference on Antennas and Propagation (MECAP), 2016
The MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technique, using multiple antennas at emission and reception, is a good solution for wireless communication systems to improve data rates and the quality of service. This technique was adopted in the latest wireless systems standards (4G, WLAN, WiMAX).

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.
