Structured optical receivers to attain superadditive capacity and the Holevo limit
When classical information is sent over a quantum channel, attaining the ultimate limit to channel capacity requires the receiver to make joint measurements over long codeword blocks.

An Iterative Receiver for OFDM With Sparsity-Based Parametric Channel Estimation [PDF]
In this work we design a receiver that iteratively passes soft information between the channel estimation and data decoding stages. The receiver incorporates sparsity-based parametric channel estimation.

Exploiting Wireless Channel State Information for Throughput Maximization [PDF]
We consider the problem of scheduling packets over channels with time-varying quality. This problem has received a lot of attention lately in the context of devising methods for providing quality of service in wireless communications. Earlier work dealing with this problem considered two cases.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Optimizing Age of Information in Wireless Networks with Perfect Channel State Information
Age of information (AoI), defined as the time elapsed since the last received update was generated, is a newly proposed metric to measure the timeliness of information updates in a network.

Task Oriented Channel State Information Quantization
In this paper, we propose a new perspective for quantizing a signal and more specifically the channel state information (CSI). The proposed point of view is fully relevant for a receiver which has to send a quantized version of the channel state to the transmitter.

On the Gaussian MIMO Relay Channel With Full Channel State Information [PDF]
This paper addresses the problem of source and relay transmit covariance optimization on the Gaussian MIMO relay channel with full channel state information (CSI), i.e., assuming perfect knowledge of all channels. For full-duplex relaying, we show that the cut-set bound on capacity can be computed as the solution of a convex problem, thus providing a ...
