Background Chaos has implications for child health that may extend to childhood obesity. Yet, results from studies describing associations between chaos and childhood obesity are mixed.

Chaos indicator and integrability conditions from geometrodynamics
Stability and chaoticity in conservative Hamiltonian systems are analyzed using an indicator based on a generalization of the virtual work principle (VWP) for Riemannian manifolds. The geometrodynamic formalism obtained in this way is applied to define a mechanical manifold using the Jacobi metric, where the system trajectories are geodesics.

Revealing the dynamical behavior of stars in a prolate or oblate elliptical galaxy
We consider the motion of a test particle (star) on the meridian plane (R,z) of an elliptical galaxy with an additional central nucleus component. The shape of the elliptical galaxy can be either prolate or oblate, or even spherical by simply changing ...

Fidelity Decay as an Efficient Indicator of Quantum Chaos [PDF]
Recent work has connected the type of fidelity decay in perturbed quantum models to the presence of chaos in the associated classical models. We demonstrate that a system's rate of fidelity decay under repeated perturbations may be measured efficiently on a quantum information processor, and analyze the conditions under which this indicator is a ...

A hybrid wavelet-Lyapunov exponent model for river water quality forecast
The use of spectral theory and chaos theory on river water quality modeling is reported in a very limited way. This study proposes a wavelet-maximum Lyapunov exponent (WMLE) hybrid model for river water quality dynamics, combining spectral theory and ...

In a recent work of Wu, Wang, Sun and Liu, a second-order explicit symplectic integrator was proposed for the integrable Kerr spacetime geometry. It is still suited for simulating the nonintegrable dynamics of charged particles moving around the Kerr ...

Kullback–Leibler quantum divergence as an indicator of quantum chaos [PDF]
We discuss a system of a nonlinear Kerr-like oscillator externally pumped by ultra-short, external, coherent pulses. For such a system, we analyse the application of the Kullback-Leibler quantum divergence $K[ρ||σ]$ to the detection of quantum chaotic behaviour.
