Chaos and Order in Nature/Creation: A Reading of Genesis l-2:4a in Dialogue with Science and Philosophy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
With inspiration from post-modern scientific theories (complexity theory, chaos theory, relativity theory, uncertainty theory, no-singularity/boundary theory), and from philosophical understandings of nature (ecstatic naturalism and Taoism), the author ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

On systems of maximal quantum chaos

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
A remarkable feature of chaos in many-body quantum systems is the existence of a bound on the quantum Lyapunov exponent. An important question is to understand what is special about maximally chaotic systems which saturate this bound.

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Many-body Quantum Chaos and Entanglement in a Quantum Ratchet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We uncover signatures of quantum chaos in the many-body dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensate-based quantum ratchet in a toroidal trap. We propose measures including entanglement, condensate depletion, and spreading over a fixed basis in many-body ...

A hybrid wavelet-Lyapunov exponent model for river water quality forecast

open access: yesJournal of Hydroinformatics, 2021
The use of spectral theory and chaos theory on river water quality modeling is reported in a very limited way. This study proposes a wavelet-maximum Lyapunov exponent (WMLE) hybrid model for river water quality dynamics, combining spectral theory and ...

Different Facets of Chaos in Quantum Mechanics

open access: yes, 1999
Nowadays there is no universally accepted definition of quantum chaos. In this paper we review and critically discuss different approaches to the subject, such as Quantum Chaology and the Random Matrix Theory.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...
