Putin and Chaos (How Chaos Theory is Interpreted in the Kremlin)

open access: yesВісник Харківського національного університету імені В.Н. Каразіна. Серія: Соціологічні дослідження сучасного суспільства: методологія, теорія, методи, 2021
The article considers chaos theory as a scientific concept that was developed to explain nonlinear dynamics in objects of a complex nature and to solve applied problems in engineering, meteorology, economics, construction, etc.

Controlling Mackey--Glass chaos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Mackey--Glass equation, which was proposed to illustrate nonlinear phenomena in physiological control systems, is a classical example of a simple looking time delay system with very complicated behavior. Here we use a novel approach for chaos control:

Kinesin‐Induced Buckling Reveals the Limits of Microtubule Self‐Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that kinesin‐driven buckling induces extensive microtubule lattice damage that often exceeds intrinsic self‐repair and leads to filament failure. While curvature, motor motility, and force individually cause limited damage, their combination overwhelms repair.

Chaos bound in Bershadsky-Polyakov theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We consider two dimensional conformal field theory (CFT) with large central charge c in an excited state obtained by the insertion of an operator Φ with large dimension ΔΦ ∼ O(c) at spatial infinities in the thermal state.

Deterministic chaos theory and forecasting in Social Sciences. Contribution to the discussion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Forecasting social phenomena may be hampered in many ways. This is because in nature of these phenomena lies strong and multilateral connection with other social phenomena; but not only – also physical and biological (natural) ones.

Vapor‐Assisted Catalysis Enables Precise Construction of MOF‐Derived Hierarchical Carbon Nanoarrays for High‐Performance Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A remote‐control strategy for catalyst design is unveiled for advanced carbon materials. During pyrolysis, zinc vapor from a physically separate source guides cobalt catalysts to construct a hierarchical carbon nanoarray. This approach prevents structural collapse while directing the dense growth of carbon nanotubes, yielding a material with ...

Sacramentality, Chaos Theory and Decoloniality

open access: yesReligions, 2019
This essay considers how an expanded understanding of sacramentality is enhanced by engagement with chaos theory and decolonial theory. These unique lenses enlarge traditional Roman Catholic frameworks for considering God’s self-communication ...

Quantum chaos in perturbative super-Yang-Mills Theory

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2023
We provide numerical evidence that the perturbative spectrum of anomalous dimensions in maximally supersymmetric $SU(N)$ Yang-Mills theory is chaotic at finite values of $N$.
